Landstar Announces 2020 Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway Sponsored by Comdata
Landstar System, Inc. has announced the date of the 2020 Landstar Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway. The annual giveaway, for which all of the nearly 10,000 Landstar owner-operators are automatically entered, will take place virtually via Zoom video conferencing on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.
Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni announced the details of the 2020 Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway during the company-wide Safety Thursday Conference Call held in August. “Due to the global pandemic, Landstar will hold the 2020 Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway virtually at the end of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, instead of at a large in-person gathering. We are keeping the tradition of our popular annual truck giveaway that shows our appreciation to Landstar owner-operators for their commitment to safety and service,” said Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni.
The 2020 Deliver to Win Giveaway will be the second new Freightliner® Cascadia® 126 that Landstar has given away during a virtual event via Zoom video conferencing this year. In July, Landstar Million Mile Safe Driver and Roadstar® Bobby Jordan won the 2020 Landstar All-Star Truck Giveaway. The Deliver to Win giveaway truck is pearl blue in color and has features including a Detroit™ DD15®, 14.8 L 455HP engine and a Detroit DT12™ automated transmission.
Every year, all owner-operators leased to Landstar earn entries in the Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway contest. Every eligible independent owner-operator leased to Landstar automatically earns one entry for every 10 loads safely delivered during the contest period. Throughout the year, Landstar owner-operators have multiple opportunities to earn additional entries to increase their chances at winning the truck, including monthly contests held via DeliverToWin.com. After the contest period ends, entries are gathered into a pool of names for the finalists drawing, with all eligible truck giveaway finalists selected by a computerized random number generator.
The names of the finalists in the 2020 Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway will be revealed on Landstar’s official social media channels starting Sept. 1, leading up to the drawing on Sept. 18. The truck winner will be determined on a Zoom video call when each of the finalists selects the box they believe contains the key to the new truck. The finalist who guesses correctly, wins the life-changing prize. A recording of the 2020 Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway, sponsored by Comdata, will be available on Landstar’s social media channels on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.
