Landstar’s First Truck Giveaway of 2019

Landstar’s first truck giveaway of 2019 is just a few weeks away. The annual Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway sponsored by Pilot/Flying J will happen Thursday, Jan. 24, during Landstar’s BCO Appreciation Days event in Jacksonville, Florida.

One of Landstar’s nearly 10,000 independent owner-operators (BCOs), will drive home from the event in a new 2019 Peterbilt 579 UltraLoft. The UltraLoft, Peterbilt’s newest version of the 579, was released in 2018, designed and tested with driver experience in mind.

The giveaway truck, features a 450-HP Cummins X15 engine with an Eaton Endurant 12-speed automated transmission. The truck’s 80″ sleeper and spacious cab, designed for optimal driver comfort and efficiency, is touted by its maker to provide an estimated 2-percent aerodynamic improvement.

Also equipped with the Bendix® Wingman® Fusion™ integrated system, the truck’s technology uses a combination of camera, radar and brake system, to offer professional drivers a new level of safety. The Wingman Fusion system compliments safe driving by using a detailed data picture to alert a driver of potential road debris, impacts, lane departures and speed limitations.

During each Deliver to Win contest period, BCOs earn entries for the giveaway by hauling safe and compliant loads. Additional entries are earned by BCOs who voluntarily participate in Landstar safety meetings, events and business classes, as well as monthly online contest entries through DeliverToWin.com. During the 2019 contest period (Jan. 1, 2018 – Nov. 30, 2018), BCOs earned more than 217,000 entries.

The Landstar Deliver to Win Truck Giveaway, sponsored by Pilot/Flying J, will be held on the first night of the two-day event in Jacksonville, Florida, Jan. 24 and 25. Landstar BCO Appreciation Day events are held throughout each year to thank Landstar BCOs for their service, dedication and commitment to safety.

LCAPP Fuel Network Discounts

Diesel rack (wholesale) prices have fallen nearly 50 cents/gallon since mid-October, including 20 cents this week, while average pump prices have remained within 15 cents of their October levels. When this happens, Landstar BCOs will see huge cost-plus discounts within the LCAPP fuel network.

Be sure to take advantage of these discounts when you can, and add some jingle to your year-end profits.
